The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Bosnia and Herzegovina fined both SNSD and SDA for the trade of seats on the polling station committees: SNSD and SDA have been fined 4 000 BAM, while Ademir Alibašić has been fined 1 000 BAM and handed a four-year ban from engaging in any activities at a polling station.
The Coalition’s report filed with CEC concerns a polling station in Jablanica. The report states that in 2016 Ademir Alibašić was an SDA candidate, but at the same time, he was appointed by SNSD to serve as the president of the polling station committee.
It has been established that Alibašić accepted to serve as a member of the polling station committee on behalf of SNSD when he was a member of SDA. SNSD which did not have municipal committees or candidates in Jablanica created conditions conducive to the trade of seats on polling station committees by allowing the SDA candidate to serve as a member of the polling station on behalf of SNSD – CEC’s representatives said at the Commission’s session on Tuesday.
The decision is that SNSD, intending to favor another political subject, SDA, abused the legal right to participate in the work of the polling station committee, thus violating the provision of the Election Law of BiH.
CEC BiH fined SNSD and SDA 4 000 BAM; Ademir Alibašić, the president of the polling station committee, has been fined 1 000 BAM and handed a four-year ban from engaging in any activities at a polling station. CEC further ordered the Jablanica Municipal Election Commission to appoint another person to the polling station committee.
