Coalition for Free and Fair Elections “Pod lupom” has released a new episode of its informational and educational podcast Electoral Compass, which brings the electoral process in Bosnia and Herzegovina closer to citizens in a clear and accessible way, highlighting key challenges and potential solutions to strengthen the integrity of elections.
The third episode features a discussion on PSCs – bodies that play a crucial role on election day as they directly decide on every single ballot, and which for years have been described as the “weakest link” in the electoral process in BiH.
In the episode entitled “PSCs and Political Control: Breaking the Weakest Link in Elections in BiH”, host Hasan Kamenjaković speaks with:
-
Azra Husarić Omerović, investigative journalist, and
-
Adnan Huskić, political analyst.
The conversation opens up key issues, including: how PSCs are formed, political trading of seats within them, the emergence of fictitious political parties, as well as recent legislative amendments that introduced non-partisan chairs and deputy chairs of PSCs. The episode also examines the potential impact of introducing new election technologies on the work of PSCs.
