„Democracy – Organizing – Progress“(DON) Prijedor: Meeting of the Working Group to develop mechanisms to advance inspection control in resolving consumer complaints

A meeting of the Working Group to develop mechanism to advance inspection control in resolving consumer complaints was organized on April 13, 2022, in Banja Luka, in the premises of the Republic Inspectorate. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Inspectorate of Republika Srpska, Expert and representatives of NGO “DON” Prijedor. The representative of the Inspectorate, the Chief Republic Market Inspector, Mr. Radivoje Gavrić, expressed its strong support for the advancement of existing inspections in order to reduce opportunities for corrupt practices and improve the work of republic market inspectors. The proposal “Guidelines for the conduct of the Republic Administration for Inspection Affairs on petitions and requests for consumer protection” was sent to all inspectors in order for them to submit suggestions, proposals and opinions.

Mr. Gavrić is committed to the transparency of the work of the Inspectorate and provided us with the forms according to which the Inspectorate currently operates in relation to the recording and resolving consumer complaints. It was concluded, at the meeting, that the work on the final version of the Guidelines for Improving the Work of Inspection Services and launching an initiative towards the Government of the Republika Srpska to adopt the above mentioned document will continue through engagement of a Working Group. Work is also continuing on other Guidelines for monitoring and reporting on the inspection process itself. In the period to come, joint meetings will be organized in five regions with national and municipal/city inspection services. This meeting was organized within the project “Public interest of consumers in the fight against corruption in the work of inspection services – Monitoring of consumer complaints”.
