The Coalition for Free and Fair Elections “Pod lupom” hosted a group of students from Johns Hopkins SAIS Europe and the University of Bologna in Sarajevo, as part of an annual study visit organized by the Center for Constitutional Studies and Democratic Development (CCSDD).
During the visit, a working meeting and a presentation of the activities of the “Pod lupom” Coalition were held, with the aim of introducing students to local perspectives on democratic development, the electoral process, and the strengthening of the rule of law in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The study visit is part of a broader program that enables students to gain first-hand insight into the country’s constitutional development, post-war reconstruction, and the role of civil society in democratic processes.
Representatives of the “Pod lupom” Coalition presented the organization’s mission and vision, as well as its key areas of work, with a particular focus on civic, non-partisan election observation, advocacy for electoral reform, civic education, and strengthening the capacities of civil society organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Special emphasis was placed on the results achieved during 2025. Through a concrete example of a one-year cycle of activities, students were provided with a detailed explanation of how the “Pod lupom” Coalition operates—from activity planning and observer mobilization to educational programs, advocacy initiatives, and the communication of findings to institutions and the public.
During the meeting, students had the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussion about challenges to electoral integrity, the role of civil society in democratic processes, and the specific features of the electoral system in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
