The Coalition for Free and Fair Elections “Pod lupom” yesterday launched a campaign to introduce new technologies in the election process in BiH in more than 70 cities and municipalities in BiH. The petition to prevent election theft and fraud on Election Day by introducing electronic identification of voters and machines for scanning ballots was signed by 10,000 citizens in the first 24 hours after the petition was launched.
More than 60 CSOs from all around Bosnia and Herzegovina will continue to collect citizens’ signatures by December 22, 2021 in order to gain the support of citizens so to improve the election process. The list of locations where the petition can be signed can be downloaded HERE.
The Coalition “Pod lupom” reminds that citizens also can sign the petition online by clicking on the link: https://podlupom.org/peticija/
Ballot scanning machines would prevent electoral fraud reflected in changing voting results by nullification votes for political opponents, voting instead of absentee voters or unauthorized addition of personal votes; electronic voter identification would prevent abuses related to the identity of voters, such as voting on behalf of another person, multiple voting and abuse of voting after the closing of polling stations. Also, it would be possible to monitor voter turnout in real time and obtain election results immediately after the closing of polling stations.
The Coalition “Pod lupom” uses this opportunity to give thanks to the citizens for their trust and response so far, and invites everyone to sign the petition in their local communities or online. The Coalition “Pod lupom” believes that positive changes and a step forward in the further development of society are possible only with the true support of citizens.
