2023 Early elections will be held on Sunday February 5 so to elect city mayors of the cities of Bihać, Srebrenik, Tuzla and Zvornik, and the mayors of the municipalities of Bratunac and Vogošća.
309,288 voters will have the right to vote in 2023 early elections as follows: 301,274 regular voters, 6,195 voters-by-mail and 1,819 in person/in absentee. The total number of voters per cities and municipalities is as follows: Bihać (58,097), Srebrenik (39,074), Tuzla (111,512), Zvornik (53,830), Bratunac (18,787) and Vogošća (27,988).
A total of 13 political entities are participating in the elections, namely 5 political parties, one coalition and 7 independent candidates. A total of 18 candidates were certified. A total of 496 polling stations are formed out of which 484 are regular and 12 for voting with unconfirmed ballots (NNN) and PERSONAL (000), of which 9 are attached to regular polling stations. 29 mobile teams will also be deployed on the field.
The Coalition “Pod lupom” will observe election day in all above – mentioned municipalities and cities except Zvornik, with 400 civic, non-partisan observers to be deployed on all polling stations. Early elections in Zvornik will not be observed because only one candidate is running for elections.
For the 2023 early elections, the Coalition “Pod lupom” will monitor the process of opening and arrangement of polling stations, the voting process, closing of polling stations, counting of votes, the turnout and results for the election of city mayors and mayors, the work of election commissions and, if necessary, the work of the Main Counting Center. Observers of the Coalition “Pod lupom” will monitor all potential electoral irregularities and try to eliminate them in order for the electoral process to proceed smoothly and in accordance with the Election Law of BiH.
The Coalition “Pod lupom” reminds that the election silence begins 24 hours before the polling stations are opened and lasts until they are closed, that is, in the period from February 4, 2023 from 07:00 a.m. to February 5 until the polling stations are closed. The Coalition “Pod lupom” calls on political subjects to respect the Election Law of BiH and election silent.
The Coalition “Pod Lupom” calls on all citizens to contact the Coalition and report all observed irregularities either via the toll-free number 080 05 05 05, using the form ‘Prijavi izbornu nepravilnost’ (Report election irregularity) on the webpage www.podlupom.org or via social media networks and to go out and vote because voting is the best way to prevent electoral fraud.
