Palmer in Mostar: All citizens must have the right to vote in elections, which must be fair. After the meeting with the leaders in the City Hall, he said he is here to show the signal that the International Community and the United States are monitoring what is happening in Mostar.
“The US, EU and OSCE are working together to support civil society so that observers are deployed at all polling stations. The elections in Mostar represent a great achievement for democratic development; these elections must be held in accordance to the highest standards. They must be fair and citizens must build trust in the system. ” Palmer said, adding that it is important for citizens to participate in political processes and to get out and vote.
Mr. Palmer concluded his address to the media with a statement that the United States will continue its presence in Mostar after the elections are finished and together with his partners he will help the authorities to establish an administration in order for them to start to provide services to citizens.
