More than 700 participants from all over BiH who attended above-mentioned events expressed its concern about the current situation in the country, witnessed electoral fraud and irregularities and agreed that essential improvements are needed in order to have free and fair elections.
Out of the 12 Coalition’s priority recommendations, citizens expressed its greatest support for introduction of scanners to scan ballot papers, introduction of independent function of the president of polling station committees, public announcement of the names of all members of all polling station committees and providing legal preconditions so to hold local elections in the city of Mostar.
Although the upcoming general elections to be held in BiH will be announced in 5 months, the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH has not yet effectively commenced the process to change Election Law of BiH. Therefore, implementation of election results for upcoming general elections is doubtful, which implies a serious political problem.
The Coalition „Pod lupom“ invites all representatives/delegates to urgently consider all proposals for improvement and to find the best possible solutions that are in accordance with the Decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH and the European Court of Human Rights. The Coalition also invites citizens to advocate for changes/amendments to the Election Law of BiH, via online platform podlupom.org/mail i.e., to send a recommendation to representatives/delegates in the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH and members of the Central Election Commission of BiH, so to advance election process.
Over the course of this year, The Coalition held public events in Sarajevo, Travnik, Livno, Brčko District, Bijeljina, Cazin, Bihać, Stolac, Mostar, Prijedor, Tuzla, Zenica and Banja Luka. Representatives of electoral administration, citizens, political subjects, international organisations, domestic organizations and the media representatives attended above-mentioned events.
