Zvizdić said that civil society representatives are one of the most important instruments for democratic processes and for every democratic society so it is of crucial importance to be involved in processes related to European integration.
“The meeting was very constructive, we heard numerous high quality comments and suggestions. We agreed to meet on regular basis in future so that civil society representatives are fully integrated and involved in further developments related to BiH’s European integration. It is sure that later on we will extend issues to economic development and all other segments such as the rule of law, regional cooperation, international cooperation, ” Mr. Zvizdić said.
During the discussion, in the light of European Integration, Mrs. Jelena Tanaskovic Mićanović, Policy Coordinator of the Coalition “Pod lupom”, reminded all attendees on the obligation of BiH to implement the Judgment of the European Court of Human Rights in the framework of electoral legislation. Mrs. Tanasković Mićanović also emphasised that Coalition’s representatives are available for all competent institutions regarding the process of amending and enhancing the BiH’s Election Law.
Mr. Zvizdić also said that cooperation with civil society would be institutionalized through an agreement that would be tied to the Council of Ministers’ agreement with civil society, an office for non-governmental organizations and civil society. He added that they also received responses to the European Commission’s Questionnaire from civil society as well as BiH citizens.
We use this opportunity to remind that the Coalition “Pod lupom” also submitted its answers to 12 questions from the European Commission’s Questionnaires pertaining to the area of election and electoral process.
