After the Central Election Commission of BiH (CEC BiH) made a decision to call and hold early elections to elect the Mayor of the City of Prijedor, the Coalition for Free and Fair Elections “Pod lupom” commenced its activities to organize non-partisan, civic observation of early elections in the City of Prijedor. Observers of the Coalition “Pod lupom” will monitor the election process at all polling stations in Prijedor, the work of the City Election Commission of the City of Prijedor, and if necessary, the work of the Main Center for Counting in Sarajevo.
During the early elections in the City of Prijedor, the Coalition “Pod lupom” will monitor the opening and arrangement of polling stations, voting process, closing of polling stations, counting of votes, voter turnout as well as the results for the election of the Mayor of the City of Prijedor. Observers of the Coalition “Pod lupom” will monitor all potential election irregularities and try to eliminate them, if occurred, in order for the election process to proceed smoothly and in accordance with the Election Law of BiH.
According to the Instruction on the deadlines pertaining to election irregularities for holding early elections for the Mayor of the City of Prijedor, the election campaign in Prijedor commence today, which includes media representation of political entities, i.e., political entities will address voters directly through the electronic media. The CEC BiH has certified 16 political entities (11 political parties and 5 independent candidates) to participate in the early elections, which will be able to organize activities in the next 15 days, in accordance with the rules established by the Law, in order to gain the support of voters for the upcoming elections.
Coalition Pod lupom invites all political entities to run the election campaign in a peaceful environment, in accordance with democratic principles, as well as to respect the rules of conduct in the election campaign prescribed by the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Coalition “Pod lupom” will regulary inform the public about the entire election process through its press releases, press conferences and social networks. The Coalition “Pod lupom” will form a Call Center in the City of Prijedor, where all media activities will be organized whilst the entire SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES can be found on the official website of the Coalition.
