“If the procedure is completed no later than the spring of next year, it means that the question of re-issue of local elections is the topic question again, especially the elections in Mostar. It all depends on the political will. Indeed I think it would be necessary to make it, it is time that this have to happen, “said Bariša Čolak, Chairman of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly.
According to him, the political parties are already designated representatives working within the parliamentary commission for the amendment to the electoral law, and in the meantime the Council of Ministers appointed a special committee to monitor the implementation and propose solutions is in charge of the case “Sejdic-Finci”. By his words, the Croatian side in negotiations is ready to reach an agreement on all outstanding issues on the model of European democratic practices with regard to the fact that Bosnia and Herzegovina has the only national peculiarities and other inherited problems.

During the meeting it was stressed that it is neccessary to intesify discussions of political parties in Mostar. It is expected that the US will have special envoys to the negotiations this time in Mostar, which is just another indication of how much they care about the solutions to this problem.
